Keiarna Kerr, Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional & Dietetic Medicine).

Hi, my name is Keiarna, and I am a Holistic Nutritionist, qualified with a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional & Dietetic Medicine). I have had an extremely  erratic health journey to date however I am extremely grateful because it has placed me in a position to help others who may be experiencing similar issues.

A little about me -  when I was in my tweens through to early 20's, I suffered with low self esteem and body image issues. I practiced restrictive eating to the point where I  broke my relationship with food, my body and my mind. At the peak of my insecurities I won the title of Miss Australia - Best Model of the Word in 2012 and represented Australia through modelling on an international stage in Istanbul. I had a very interesting learning that came from this experience, I learnt that I wasn't alone in my disordered eating habits. Honestly, the majority of the beautiful (seriously stunning) girls that I was competing against had the same if not worse dietary and lifestyle behaviours than I did. It was at this point that I decided that I would endeavour on my journey towards mastering and out-sciencing my inner mean girl by studying a degree in nutrition, and it worked!

Moving on -  I was also a  member of the Royal Australian Air Force and worked in tactical intelligence with FA-18 A/F jets for a period of eight years. During my military career, I deployed overseas to warlike environments and  experienced first hand how factors such as stress, adversity, family and work can each have a significant effect on physical and mental health. From my military experience I have developed an appreciation for adversity and now know that I am now in a healthy and strong mindset. However! I also recognise that if I do not take ongoing care of myself (physically and emotionally), my mind and gut will suffer big time -  I'm sure this relates to most at some level.

With all of this said, it may not be a surprise to you that  I am now extremely passionate about applying nutritional medicine to assist clients who suffer from mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety and disordered eating. I also have other loves for my nutritional practice including women's health, gastrointestinal health, beauty and anti-ageing. P.S.  if this beauty and anti-ageing is your jam - keep an eye out on my social media as I regularly post recipes that support all things skin, hair and beauty <3
